The Client

Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) was established by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales to advance the Church’s social action in these regions.

CSAN’s vision, centred on Christ and inspired by Catholic Social Teaching, foresees a civilisation of love, solidarity, and justice in England and Wales. This includes upholding the dignity of every human being, fostering an environment where everyone can flourish in peace and freedom, eliminating exclusion and dehumanising poverty, and amplifying the voices of the most vulnerable individuals. They are committed to tackling poverty and promoting justice.

The Campaign

The “Do Justice campaign” is an initiative led by CSAN, dedicated to addressing poverty and injustice in England and Wales.

“Our compassion has never been more valuable. If people are hungry, we must feed them. If people are homeless, we must shelter them. However, within our compassion, there is a passion to affect change that also addresses these causes of hunger, of homelessness. To defend the dignity of the person also means to identify and challenge the causes of injustice.”

This campaign aims to inspire and encourage Catholic communities to take meaningful action in response to the urgent needs within their communities, focusing on addressing pressing issues, such as poverty and the difficult choices faced by individuals because nobody should face the dilemma between heating their homes or feeding their families.

The Approach

CSAN needed the “Do Justice” campaign to encourage individuals to engage with their team and encourage Catholic communities to take meaningful action in response to the urgent needs within their respective communities.

Creating the new website

We also designed and developed a new website that’s modern, intuitive and accessible. This website not only captures the audience’s attention quickly but holds them there too. The website aimed to be informative while inspiring the user to take action and ‘make a pledge’.

 The website includes information on:

  • What the campaign is for
  • Who the campaign aims to help
  • How users can get involved (join, download resources)
  • Understand why they should engage with the campaign
  • Access case studies, updates and resources
  • Capture enquiries from those who want to get involved
  • Direct people to services that can help them

Transforming their visual identity

When creating a new visual identity for the “Do Justice” campaign, our objective was to maintain alignment with the established Caritas brand guidelines while crafting a distinctive and compelling identity for the campaign.

Recognising the importance of a comprehensive brand identity, we aimed to develop visual assets, including worksheets, flyers and posters that seamlessly integrated with the existing Caritas framework. Our focus extended to enhancing the campaign’s social media presence and creating merchandise tailored for events.

By adhering to the Caritas brand guidelines, we also ensured continuity and coherence while simultaneously infusing the “Do Justice” campaign with a bold and engaging aesthetic.

The Results

New visual identity

Working closely with the CSAN team, our Brand Specialist explored conceptual ideas to bring the brand to life, enabling our Graphic Designer to develop a unique and powerful brand identity, which included a new colour palette, typography and icons – all making the ‘Do Justice’ campaign instantly recognisable.

Our Designer produced a full brand guidelines document to assist the CSAN team in designing engaging and consistent communications that will build campaign awareness. This new identity is also showcased in various key collateral, such as roller banners, tote bags, stickers and worksheets

New website

Our website developer also created a stunning new website that’s professional, modern and provides a smooth customer journey. Not only that, the site has been built with a modular site editor, which allows the team to easily add any updates and launch future campaigns, also reducing further development costs.

Our Copywriter also wrote all the copy for the new website, ensuring it was clear, concise and kept the audience engaged. The results speak for themselves – within the first two months of the site being live, the CSAN team has received over 70 sign-ups on their ‘pledge to justice’ form which is incredible!

It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the CSAN team on such a meaningful and impactful project – we’re honoured to have been part of this journey.

Caritas Social Action Network have really enjoyed having the opportunity to work with MP&Co. The team’s ability to understand our brief was particularly impressive as we sought to share our ideas with a wider audience. Mostly, we were grateful for their commitment to complete the project within a tight timeframe. We would therefore highly recommend MP&Co for any business or charity hoping to promote their values-driven organisation.”
