The Brief

We quickly established We Are Adam’s marketing objectives, identifying the key areas they required our support:

  • Drive forward a solid marketing plan
  • Provide support and strategic advice for the company’s internal social media manager
  • Manage third-party agencies and challenge them to improve performance, giving back directors precious time
  • Carefully source new third-parties where required to deliver new initiatives
  • Understand where the business is and what is working from a marketing perspective

The Challenge

Before we connected with We Are Adam, the recruitment company lacked a solid marketing strategy that matched their brand culture and values.

To gain a competitive edge, elicit more enquiries and grow the business, We Are Adam decided to look for support externally from a marketing consultancy business.

In the new year of 2017, the search for a marketing company that met their criteria began with a lengthy and diligent interview process. We were delighted to be chosen against stiff competition.

The Approach

In March 2017, we led a strategy session to stimulate the foundation of the marketing plan.

The discussion was held with key stakeholders from each business area. Topics covered included:

  • Key target audiences and buyer personas
  • Competitor analysis
  • State of the market
  • Business objectives – short, medium and long-term
  • A thorough analysis of the current marketing plan
  • Deadlines and deliverables
  • Key KPIs

 

This intensive strategy programme formed the foundation of a 24-month multi-channel marketing plan that tackled each business objective. The project management processes were also surveyed to ensure our contracted support met the company’s key requirements.

The Approach

The Relationship​

We worked with We Are Adam on a retained basis supporting them for a set period of days every month.

Rolling out the devised twelve-month strategy, the top, middle and bottom of the marketing funnel were addressed through premium content. A primary goal was to position Adam as an authority in their spaces of tech, digital, HR and agency. To achieve this, we crafted thought leadership pieces for lead generation purposes. Content included:

  • Marketing, HR and tech-based content aimed at junior, middle and senior level candidates
  • Content aimed at senior decision makers such as HR directors, agency owners, business owners etc
  • Bottom of funnel content such as case studies and ‘Why Work with Adam’ pieces examining heritage, prestige etc
  • Content aimed at potential recruitment consultants as a hiring tool

 

We also executed an organic and paid social media strategy, driving engagement from current followers growing We Are Adam’s network and boosting lead capture.

Our work didn’t stop there. We used email marketing to target candidates with relevant content and job openings. Previously no email marketing strategy existed. Now a powerful channel for both engagement and driving job applications is in full swing.

Consultancy and marketing support for the business was also provided. Additionally, we managed company and co-branded events, like the Business Leaders of Manchester conference where 100 senior decision makers got together for a roundtable event to discuss business growth and thought leadership.

The following marketing support and activity was also delivered:

  • Creation and management of the marketing budget monitoring spend vs. revenue on a monthly basis and reporting on a range of business KPIs
  • Conducted quantitative and qualitative market research projects to maximise marketing agility
  • A digital marketing strategy that included pay-per-click and paid social advertising models
  • Copywriting for marketing collateral and We Are Adam’s website
  • Project management and marketing strategy of new initiatives such as new service launches, events etc
  • Every month, we also hold a marketing meeting reporting on each channel’s progress, our latest results and recommendations for the future.

 

This detailed report holds significant value for the business. It helps key stakeholders understand how their marketing plan is progressing against initial objectives ensuring complete transparency every step of the way. The report includes data analysis of all marketing channels and recommendations for improvements across social, email, website, PPC and other channels.

Finally, we sourced and managed third-party suppliers, meeting with them and reporting back to the business on a regular basis. This ensured the business has the best possible support in line with its budget. It also eliminates the time directors spend managing suppliers.

Today, we continue to work with the recruitment business. This is thanks to our excellent partnership that has grown from strength-to-strength through trust, flexibility and high-quality service delivery.

We appointed Mike and his team in spring 2017 and have retained them on an ongoing basis since that time. Initially, Mike spent time reviewing and critiquing our marketing activity before creating an in-depth marketing plan for the business.

This included a focussed content marketing plan, email marketing strategy, social media support and digital campaigns. He created and maintains for us a detailed marketing budget to help us keep track of spending vs performance, reporting back to us at a regular monthly meeting.

Mike has also played a leading role in numerous other strategic marketing projects including event strategy and management and the selection and appointment of additional agency support where required.
